Leather retains some of it’s natural charactistics after it has been processed. Properly caring for any leather product is the biggest factor in increasing not only the lifespan, but also your enjoyment of it.
The best leather care focuses on cleaning and conditioning. This should be done atleast once a year, depending on how often it is used.
Since leather is naturally acidic, use care to avoid using anything alkaline to clean it.
Some types of leather will darken when they are wetted and they will also dry darker. Be sure to test any new cleaning solutions or techniques in an inconspicuous spot. The underside of the leather will msot likely react differently than the outside.
